Appeal Process
The Property Valuation Administrator's Notices of Real Estate Assessment are typically mailed during the month of April to allow appropriate time for property owners to review the information pertaining to their property. All property owners have the right to appeal the assessed value of their property; however, certain steps must be followed.

Agricultural & Horticultural Property
The purpose of the agricultural value program is to stimulate the continuation of farming operations and encourage the preservation of farmland in Kentucky by providing property tax relief.

Commercial & Industrial Property
The Kenton County Property Valuation Administrator is responsible for applying a fair and equitable assessment to about 5,000 commercial and industrial properties in Kenton County as of January 1 of each year. Our office takes great pride in ensuring an accurate assessment is made for each property.

Motor Vehicle Assessment
All automobiles, trucks, boats, boat trailers, motorcycles and recreational vehicles must be assessed as of January 1 of each year. Motor vehicles are generally taxed in the county of registration as of the assessment date based upon NADA values.
